We mostly praise little girls for being pretty and sweet, and mostly praise boys for what they achieve. Then we are very surprised when that that same boy hits puberty, and treats the ‘pretty girls’ as ‘pretty objects’ to play with…and not as another human being, just like him. – From my Facebook page
